Monogrammed Aisle Runner

I did it! I can't believe how good the aisle runner turned out. After 3 back-breaking hours it is done. And I feel pretty good about it! I did have a little boo-boo, the kids next door screamed and it scared me so I dropped the brush. I covered it with some white paint and it looks a little crappy, but it's all good. I don't think anyone will mind, the rest of it looks nice so it makes up for it. Needless to say after I got interrupted by noise, I put put my ipod on and turned up the volume! No mess ups after that!!! I really enjoyed painting this and think I am considering making them for other brides as well!

The green lines on the side are the tape holding down the wax paper underneath.. NOT PART OF THE DESIGN!

Photo Frame Card Box

We finally did it! We are both SOOOO proud of our photo frame card box! It was a lot of preparation, but once we got going it all went pretty smoothly. Minus the 3 trips to ACE Hardware in a matter of 1 hour. But it turned out really good! I'm so proud of Rhandy! He did an AWESOME job of putting this thing together.

It was really pretty easy to make. You just need to be crafty with a drill and screws and all that jazz. Which I am not. That's where Rhandy came in! If you are thinking of making one of these, which I HIGHLY recommend because it is SO cute... here's what you'll need.

4 Frames (we used 10x13 because we are having a large wedding and need a lot of space. but
8x10 frames would work just as well, and is probably cheaper. I got my frames at
Michael's for $10 each)
16 L Brackets (this is the part we struggled on, the sizes really depend on your frames, we ended
up using 2 different sizes, word of advice, take your frames with you to the store.)
Foam Board
1 yard of Fabric (just to be safe)
1/2 yard of Batting
Lazy Susan (Ikea $6)- if you want it to spin
Stapler
Exacto Knife

First things first, you will need to put all the brackets on the frames. This is where I handed it over to Rhandy cause there was NO WAY! I would be able to do this and still have it look nice. He ended up have to drill all the brackets on, then taking 1 side off so he could drill in the screws and brackets on the last frame. It's almost impossible to get the drill inside the box to screw that last frame on, so you will most likely need to make the holes, then go back and screw them in by hand on the last one. But just play with it, you will figure it out as you go along.

If you would like some more detailed directions, I can post them, but as for now, I will just post the finished project. After you get the frames all screwed together, the rest is pretty easy.

Big Project Weekend

This weekend is the start of the blog and the start of our wedding projects! We've done a lot already. But this weekend we are really focusing on some DIY projects we've been wanting to do. We're going to be making a Photo Frame Card Box for all our cards at the reception. I'm "attempting" to paint out monogram on our aisle runner. And put together our Unity Candle, which should be simple.

It's going to be a nice hot weekend so we can sit outside by the pool in our backyard and work the day away! I will post pics and instruction of how everything goes once we get finished. Hopefully all will go well!
